Smithiantha season but cold for the public

It's quite a cold snap during these days in Taiwan, especially the chilly and windy days make me a headache when working in the garden. (Although I know it's nothing if comparing with the blizzard of northern earth.) It seems Smithiantha is the only happy plant now because many Gesneriads go into dormancy. Freezing ~~

Kohleria thrives

Good to grow Kohleria on ground and they thrive on their own efforts, especially for grower like me who have limited time to look after each plant carefully. Almost no need to take care of them after the day I buried the rhizomes. I'm always looking for possible tricks to address the endless issues of excess plants. :-)

Grasshopper also likes my Kohleria and the flower is its food for winter. Good to know that. XD

Do you like Smithiantha ?

I like it a lot, for the long and beautiful raceme and brilliant color, some are even scented. As long as you have free space to grow plants, do not forget to set up a Smithiantha garden, you will be rewarded.

Streptocarpella saxorum

It was ten years ago when I firstly knew Streptocarpella saxorum during my visit to Chatuchak Flower Market on Wednesday in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. This is a memorial plant, it reminds me those delightful days that I and my friends had in Thailand. My plant is thick and dense due to it receives stronger sunlight that makes it tend to a succulent-look. The flower is cute as it was.

Smithiantha HCY's Winter Glory

I got a full developed plant for blooming season. Smithiantha is ok for my growing tunnel, that's good that the summer heat doesn't molest it.
