A young plant with its first blooms, fortunately the snail doesn't find it. :-) Sometimes I'm curious why does the snail always know there is a bud for dinning.

Aeschynanthus NOID
I bought this lipstick plant from local flower market, it's a common hanging plant in cultivation in Taiwan. There are quite a few similar Aeschynanthus species or hybrids ... don't know its correct ID. Nevertheless, the commonest stuff suits my wallet well. :)

Aeschynanthus tricolor
It seems this species has been found in many places in S.E. Asia, my plant is the type from Sabah (Malaysian Borneo). As I know Aeschynanthus is a
large genus that contains more or less 300 species and even more are not
recorded or defined. I noticed this striped lipstick plant many years ago, it's
the only Aeschynanthus with stripe pattern I have ever seen. What a joyful time
that it flowers before Chinese New Year which begins in this weekend ... this
means holidays are coming ... :) Happy CNY for Everyone !!!
