The weather here is getting warm, so the Sinningia grows rapidly. Last week I just noted the small buds, but now many are in bloom. A nice season for the miniature Sinningias. ^^
This is a new hybrid of Kohleria from Mr. H.C.Y. who has created many modern Kohlerias in Taiwan. It has an interesting character, when it just blooms , the ground of flower is butter yellow, and after couple days it turns to white. So that you are able to enjoy the color show of this new charming Kohleria.
This is coming from the cross made by mini Sinningia and Sinn. speciosa (slipper type) , and this plant has a huge flower. The foliage shines the silver sheen , pretty charming. HCY's Midnight Waltz is a compact but larger grower comparison to other mini Sinningia. Very beautiful and stunning !
This is an upright growing Chirita , sometimes it grows tall after years. The latin name "flavimaculata" means the "Yellow Mark" on the upper side of flower.
Most of the Sinningia cross I made last year were red/pink type. Some seedlings are true vivid red and some are rose pink. Most of the flower size is about 2.5~3cm. It will be a nice start to get some red hybrids for future cross work.
This Henckelia is a perennial original from the boarder between China and Vietnam. It usually blooms in Spring only. Flower size is large comparison to other Chirita. (It was Chirita corniculata before, now the name has changed.)
This is so-called micro-mini Sinningia , a very cute and small grower. Spring is the best time for such plants and they usually heavily bloom.
