Strep. Fred's Yellow Ice

It has been a long time that I did not grow Streptocarpus because it's not common plant in local flower market. But a few months ago I bought few starter plants of Streptocarpus when I walked into to a annual plant shop and see them over there. Hopefully I can get more blooms before summer comes.

Strep. Kim

This is the only one Streptocarpus that I grow by far. Precisely speaking, this is the only survival after I moved to new planting area 2 years ago. Because I grow various plants and I usually prefer easy stuff that tolerates the seasonal climate in Taipei, Taiwan. So I don't keep Streptocarpus intentionally. This plant "Kim" supposes to be a tough variety.

Last Streptocarpus

Under natural weather condition, May should be the last bloom season of Streptocarpus here in Taiwan.  This year I won't have cooling equipment for Streptocarpus, hopefully they pass through this summer in the new plant house.

Strep. Lullabye

I just keep few Streptorcarpus plants now, Lullabye is a compact one with lovely blooms. The summer heat here is enough to kill them, to give these plants a break ... I give up.  :)

Strep. "Crystal Ice" x Strep. "Blueberry Butterfly"

At a glance, it is very similar to Strep. "Blueberry Butterfly", but can be recognized by checking each detail of the flower. This hybrid survived for at least 2 years after I firstly tried the cross work on Streptocarpus. It seems this one is a foribunda if I can grow it well. So ... let's do it. XD

The last beautiful moment for these cape primroses. The hot summer is coming in Taiwan ..... Both seedlings are over 6cm in diameter, I will expect what is the most they can do in the winter time.

Strep. Feathers On Ice

Not really remember why I have this plant survived from the devil heat of last summer. But it does live well now and gives flowers by return. Hopefully it will pass this hot summer which is coming soon.

Strep. Hybrid Selection 20090504

A splendiferous color combination , and the flower shape is round with slim white edge. This is something that can catch my eyes so far.

Some new seedings in bloom. The first one is Blueberry Butterfly's hybrid , looks like the pollen parents a lot. The second one was made by Crystal Ice , but it gets same flower size as Crystal Ice (too small for me) , the color is common as well.

This recent bloom was made by Strep. Crystal Ice , I fotgot the father plant. The first bloom is created by a small plant , but the shape and color is decent.

As it's right time for growing Streptocarpus in cool season , so I re-potted my former cross of Streptocarpus months ago and expected them to give some flowers before summer comes. Now I have some of them in bloom , but sorry to say I've messed up their parents. :-)

Strep. Crystal Ice

This pretty Strep. "Crystal Ice" is in bloom now. I have grown this species for at least 2 years. With the heritage of Strep. kentaniensis , Strep. Crystal Ice has better tolerance of hot summer which makes it an easier grower in Taiwan.
