2014 Spring Gesneriads Show ~ Sinningia

Just a few Sinningia and other Gesneriads entries for this spring show, probably due to some main growers were absent. What a pity ! But I still found new and interesting hybrids on the show tables. People here are always working hard to do something new. So exciting !!!

New calyx double Sinningia seedling, do you see the unusual part ?

Hairy Sinningia collection XD

Obviously no one doubts me if I say this is a hybrid made from Sinn. guttata :-)

Sinn. HCY's Cherry Bells, this entry is very well-developed. The flower size is 1/2 bigger than normal size. Really an eye-catching plant !!!

An interesting cross between Sinn. Laura and Sinn. aghensis (not sure which is pollen or seed parent), I was informed there are only 2 seedlings from this cross.

  1. The new calyx double Sinningia seems like some tropical fruits 番石榴, It is really unique, i guess it must possess the gene from Sinningia conspicua.

  2. Unfortunately I don't know the parentage information, there are many new seedlings of calyx double in Taiwan.
